A pretty cove a short walk north of the centre, framed by cliffs and the chapel of São Sebastião above.
Reached by a zigzag path down the cliff, São Sebastião feels a touch wilder than the central beaches while staying within walking distance of town. The chapel above gives it its name and a fine viewpoint.
It is a good spot for a quieter swim or to watch experienced surfers on the reef at the northern end. Mind the rocks, which dry out at low tide.
